“Advocating For Change - Applying the Principles of Lobbying and Policy Change to our Work and Play,” the topic for the April 25, 2014, Wolfpack your Lunch program, to be held at the Research Triangle Park Foundation, 1 Park Drive in RTP. Leading the discussion will be Matt Peterson, director of federal research affairs at NC State University’s Office of Research, Innovation and Economic Development.

The “Wolfpack your Lunch” series is open to NC State alumni and Triangle-area professionals at no charge as an outreach of the NC State Executive Education team at the Poole College of Management. Registration is required and may be completed at the NC State Executive Programs website. The event begins with networking at 11:45 a.m., and concludes at 1 p.m. Participants are encouraged to bring a lunch; beverages will be provided. A boxed lunch may also be ordered when registering.

About the speaker

As director of federal research affairs at NC State University’s Office of Research, Innovation and Economic Development, Matt Peterson specializes in legislative affairs, strategies and tactics for advocacy, and interpreting science policy.  He joined NC State in 2003 as the director of federal affairs.

Prior to joining NC State, Peterson was director of federal affairs for seven years at the University of California Office of the President. Peterson graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a degree in political science and law and society and received his MBA in finance from the George Mason University School of Management.

Wolfpack your Lunch was launched by NC State Executive Programs to provide NC State alumni and professionals in the Triangle area an opportunity to discuss topics relevant to their careers in a casual setting. Two sessions are held each month, as follows:
