BCBSNC President and CEO to Present Nov. 11 Wachovia Lecture

The Wachovia Executive Lecture Series presentations are held at the NC State University College of Management auditorium, 3400 Nelson Hall, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. There is no charge to attend. Weiss, dean of the college.

About the speaker

Robert J. Greczyn, Jr., president and chief executive officer of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina. He joined BCBSNC in 1998, bringing 20 years of leadership experience in health care and an understanding of the North Carolina health care market. He was named president in 1999 and became CEO in April 2000.

Greczyn serves on the Board of Trustees for BCBSNC, the board of the national Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association, the Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust Advisory Board, the board of the N.C. New Schools Project, and the board and executive committee of the Triangle United Way. He is past chairman of the board of directors for The Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare and past chair of the Research Triangle Regional Partnership. He also is a board member of the East Carolina University Board of Trustees.

Greczyn earned a Master of Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from East Carolina University. He also completed the executive program in health care finance management at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
