College of Management Accounting Alumni receive CFO of the Year Awards

Bruce W. Elder (B.A., 1984, accounting and business administration), CFO, Crescent State Bank, was recognized in the small public company division. J. Yates Parker, III, (B.A., 1984, accounting), assistant vice president of finance for Railinc Corp, based in Cary, N.C., was recognized in the medium private company division.

The CFO awards were presented by the TBJ during a luncheon on July 15. The honorees’ profiles are in the July 17 print edition of the Triangle Business Journal.

The TBJ presented the awards to professionals in North Carolina’s Triangle region who exemplify excellence as corporate financial stewards.

“On behalf of the college and especially our Department of Accounting, I congratulate both Bruce and Yates on this recognition of their professionalism and significant achievement,” said Ira R. Weiss, dean of the NC State College of Management.
