College of Management Announces Fall 2010 Wachovia Executive Lecture Series Speakers

Mack will be speaking in the college’s Nelson Auditorium on Wednesday, October 13, 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The Nelson Auditorium is in 3400 Nelson Hall, 2801 Founders Drive, Raleigh, N.C.

Presenters in this speaker series discuss leadership in today’s global marketplace, including their leadership role within their organizations. The presentations are open to NC State University students, faculty, alumni as well as members of the business community and others in the area. There is no fee to attend and reservations are not required.

Future speakers are Dave Singer, chief executive officer of Lance Corporation, presenting the November 3, 2010 lecture, and Bob Bruggeworth, president and chief executive officer of RF Micro Devices, speaking on November 15.

About our speakers

John Mack is chairman of Morgan Stanley, a leading global financial services firm providing a wide range of investment banking, securities, investment and wealth management services in 42 countries. Since first joining the firm in 1972, Mack has held senior positions including president, chief operating officer and a director of Morgan Stanley Dean Witter & Co. He was also co-chief executive officer of Credit Suisse Group and chief executive officer of Credit Suisse First Boston before rejoining Morgan Stanley in 2005.

David Singer is chief executive officer of Lance Corporation. Headquartered in Charlotte, N.C., the company manufactures and markets snack foods throughout much of North America, selling products under the Lance, Cape Cod, Tom’s, Archway, and Stella D’Oro brand names, as well as private labels. Before joining Lance, Singer held senior positions at Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated, including most recently executive vice president and chief financial officer.

Robert A. Bruggeworth is president and chief executive officer of RF Micro Devices (RFMD). Based in Greensboro, N.C., RFMD is a global leader in the design and manufacture of high-performance semiconductor components. It is a preferred supplier to the world’s leading mobile device, customer premises and communications equipment providers. Previously, Bruggeworth was president of RFMD’s wireless products group and vice president of wireless products.
