DeLisa Alexander joins NC State Poole College of Management Advisory Board

The Poole College of Management at North Carolina State University announces the appointment of DeLisa Alexander, executive vice president and chief people officer at Red Hat, to the Poole College Advisory Board.

Photo of DeLisa AlexanderAt Red Hat, Alexander leads the People team, which is responsible for global human resources and includes Red Hat ® University. The People team's mission is to be a strategic partner to the business in acquiring, developing, and retaining talent and to enhance the Red hat culture and talent brand.

Alexander received a “Women in Business” executive award from the Triangle Business Journal in 2010. She serves on the board of directors for the Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) and the board of advisors for the Frank Hawkins Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise.

Prior to her current role at Red Hat, Alexander served in the company's Office of General Council until mid-2006, most recently as assistant general counsel and assistant secretary. Her responsibilities included equity and executive compensation, trademark, copyright, and employment matters. Alexander also advised the company’s management and board of directors on securities and corporate governance.

Prior to joining Red Hat, Alexander was associated with the Kilpatrick Stockton law firm, where she focused on mergers, acquisitions, venture capital, and intellectual property licensing. She started her career as a judicial clerk for the Honorable William B Chandler, Chancellor of the Delaware Court of Chancery. She graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of business administration from James Madison. She also holds an MBA from the University of Baltimore and earned her Juris Doctor, with distinction, from George Mason University.
