Hampton Pitts is named chairman of the NC State Poole College Board of Advisors

The North Carolina University State Poole College of Management announces the appointment of Hampton Pitts as the chairman of the college’s Board of Advisors. He will serve a two-year term, succeeding Billy Troxler, president and chief executive officer of Troxler Electronic Laboratories, Inc., who served as chairman for the prior two years.

Pitts, who is chief operating officer and a partner at LStar Management in Raleigh, N.C., is an accomplished real estate development and home building executive. He has 30 years’ experience in real estate development, homebuilding and operational leadership.

Prior to his current role, Pitts was regional executive vice president for the Texas and Carolinas markets of Ashton Woods Homes, one of the nation’s five largest private home builders. As both executive vice president and founding Raleigh division president, Pitts was responsible for managing over 250 employees and daily operations in the company’s six North Carolina and Texas offices, as well as developing strategic plans for their future growth. Prior to that, he worked with national public builder Centex Homes for over 16 years as founding division president in Myrtle Beach, S.C., and later as the company’s division president in Raleigh, N.C.

Pitts is a graduate of NC State University and in the past served as the chair of the Dean’s Advisory Board for the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Additional current and past community leadership roles include involvement in the Home Builders Association of Raleigh-Wake County and the Home Builders Association of Durham, Orange and Chatham Counties; the Midtown Raleigh Alliance Advisory Board; the City of Raleigh’s Environmental Advisory Board and leadership council for the Church of the Apostles in Raleigh.
