NC State Jenkins MBA Selected as a McGowan Scholars Academic Institution

William G. McGowan Charitable Fund established the McGowan Scholars program to provide selected colleges and universities with scholarships to help students pursuing a business education at an accredited business school. The recognition program provides a scholarship of up to $18,000 for a first-year MBA student, to be applied to the student’s second-year tuition.

The McGowan Scholars program is designed to encourage leadership ability, interpersonal skills and a significant involvement in academic, campus and community activities. It also recognizes excellence of character, a spirit of innovation and entrepreneurial potential. The program currently has about 350 McGowan Scholar alumni.

“We are very pleased to have been selected for this recognition and for the financial support it makes available for one of our students,” said Ira R. Weiss, dean of the college. “The McGowan Charitable Fund’s focus – on leadership, interpersonal skills, innovation and entrepreneurial potential – is aligned with our focus as a college on enabling individuals to become leaders in the management of innovation and technology.”

The NC State Jenkins MBA program will begin accepting applications from its first year MBA students immediately, for its March 15 scholarship deadline. The scholarship will provide up to $18,000 tuition support for one year of study in the Jenkins MBA program, less other financial support that has been awarded to the student. Details and application materials are available online at the NC State Jenkins MBA website. For additional information, contact Pam Bostic., MBA program director.
