Latin American cultures are focus of student-led event on Feb. 11

Interested in learning more about the various Latin American cultures? Then stop by at the cultural event being hosted on Wednesday, February 11, by the NC State chapter of the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA).

The event begins at 6:30 p.m. and will be held in the Nelson Commons, located on the second floor of Nelson Hall. There is no cost to attend.

The NC State ALPFA chapter members have organized the evening of food and fun to provide an opportunity for others to learn about the cultures of the different Latin American countries.

They will have stations with information about the countries, including traditions, cultures and facts, along with complementary traditional Latin American foods and beverages. Representatives will be on hand to relate their experiences from having lived in or visited the countries.

Executive officers of NC State’s ALPFA chapter are:
  • Avi Gomez, senior in international studies, president
  • Alberto Moreno, senior in business administration, executive vice president
  • Louise Dupon, junior in fashion and textile management, vice president of finance
  • Laura Gomez Dominguez, junior in business administration, vice president of marketing
  • Michelle Miloslavich, senior in economics, vice president of administrative affairs
The NC State ALPFA chapter, based in Poole College, was formed in spring 2014 and is open to all students.
