Luxury management graduate students plan industry summit in south of France

Sophia Antipolis, France – On February 7, 2014 the second annual Luxury and Fashion Intelligence (LFI) Summit will be held in the French Riviera at SKEMA Business School’s campus in Sophia Antipolis. The Luxe Groupe, an organization of students in the Global Luxury Management graduate program offered in partnership by SKEMA Business School and the Poole College of Management at NC State University, are helping to organize the summit.

The LFI Summit brings together professionals from the luxury, fashion and cosmetics sectors with graduate students. The goal of the summit is to provide students a way to broaden their knowledge of the luxury, fashion and cosmetics industries through testimonials, presentations and debates.

Scheduled to speak at the Summit are the following:

  • Claire Lonvaud-Della Bianca, fragrance and jewels marketing manager of Reminiscence
  • Annick Jehanne, chief executive officer of Atelier Auris Gold Kalaa and founder of Business Fashion Forum
  • Dr. Nancy Cassill, professor and director of the Global Luxury Management Program at NC State University, speaking on “Luxury in the United States”
  • Jonas Hoffmann, associate professor of marketing at SKEMA, speaking on “Made in Emerging Countries”
  • Ivan Coste Maniere, LFM program director at SKEMA and Isabella Soscia, associate professor of marketing at SKEMA, speaking on “Debate on Shockvertising”
  • Ambika Zutsh, chief executive officer of Fashionbi
  • Vincent Simeon, marketing and communication manager assistant at Backes & Strauss, London

About Luxury and Fashion Intelligence

Luxury and Fashion Intelligence is a student association founded by SKEMA students who are studying in the Master of Science in Luxury and Fashion Management program. The association aims to inform, promote, favor and develop all activity in the sectors of luxury, fashion and cosmetics through various activities.

Luxe Groupe is an international student organization that immerses students into the luxury industry through education, events, and experiences. Founded as a student organization at NC State University Poole College of Management in 2013, Luxe Groupe is comprised of a diverse membership including members from the United States, Europe, Canada, Africa, and the Faroe Islands (Iceland). Luxe Groupe is a student affiliate group of the Master of Global Innovation Management – Global Luxury Management program at the NC State Poole College of Management Jenkins Graduate School.

About the Global Luxury Management Program

Global Luxury Management (GLM) is a unique academic program offered as an option in the Master of Global Innovation Management (MGIM) program in the Jenkins Graduate School at North Carolina State University’s Poole College of Management. The GLM option was developed and is offered as a partnership between NC State's Poole College of Management and SKEMA Business School's Sophia Antipolis, campus in France, in collaboration with the NC State College of Textiles.  The rigorous one-year dual degree graduate program provides students with a solid foundation in global luxury management coursework combined with experiential activities – to prepare future leaders for the dynamic global luxury marketplace.
