Most 2009 Spring Graduates Now Employed

At time of graduation, 21 percent of those receiving bachelor’s degrees who reported on their career plans (92 percent of the graduates) said they had full time jobs, and 54 percent reported having at least part time positions. Another 17 percent planned to continue their education. Now, 92 percent are employed and 19 percent are continuing their education.

In the college’s Jenkins MBA program, 75 percent of the graduating class was employed by graduation, and over 80 percent is employed now. Top employers include Biogen Idec, Halliburton, Environmental Protection Agency, Deloitte, American Airlines, Accenture, Carquest, Bank of America, Chevron, IBM, John Deere, The Pantry, U.S. Army Reserves and Hewlett Packard.

The Master of Accounting (MAC) Program reports a 90 percent placement rate for its graduates. Of those, 79 went to public accounting firms, four each to government and corporate positions, and two are continuing their education. The MAC Program also offers an Accounting Internship Recruitment Program, and placed 17 students in winter internships, and 18 in summer internships. Twenty-four of those were located in Raleigh, seven in Charlotte, three in Washington, D.C., and one in Greensboro.
