New Staff Appointments Announced by NC State College of Management

Office of Undergraduate Programs

Two new professional advisors joined the college’s Office of Undergraduate Programs. The college’s undergraduate professional advisors are assigned to groups of students as freshmen and continue to work with them on their academic progress plans throughout their years in the College of Management. The new staff members fill vacancies that occurred in the past year.

  • Deborah K. Anderson joined the college from the Farmer School of Business at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where she held positions in student services since 1998. She earned her master’s degree in college student personnel from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, in 1998, and completed a 16-day Student Affairs/Higher Education Graduate International Study to New Zealand through Miami University in 2010. Anderson’s professional affiliations include the National Academic Advising Association, American College Personnel Association and the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators.
  • Shannon Edward came to the college from the University of Delaware, where she completed internships and graduate assistantships in academic advising. She earned her master’s in 2010 from the University of Delaware. She has a bachelor’s in psychology from NC State in 2008, and completed a Study Abroad in Italy in 2007. During her graduate assistantship at the University of Delaware, she had a key role in developing a new pilot leadership workshop series for undergraduate students. She also served as the graduate advisor for the National Panhellenic Council and for the Inter-Fraternity Council. She is a member of the American College Personnel Association, American Psychological Association, Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity and Delta Gamma Sorority.
  • Amy Wilson joined the college as an advising assistant. She is completing her master’s degree in higher education at NC State University’s College of Education.

NC State Jenkins Graduate School of Management

The NC State Jenkins Graduate School announced new staff appointments in its Master of Accounting (MAC) and MBA programs.

  • Heather Johnson, CPA, was recently appointed assistant director of admissions for the NC State Jenkins MAC Program. She is a graduate of the NC State Jenkins MAC program, class of 2003, and received her bachelor’s degree in accounting from the NC State College of Management in 2002. Before joining the Jenkins MAC Program, Johnson served as recruiting leader with Deloitte Tax LLP in Raleigh, N.C. She is a member of the AICPA and the North Carolina Association of CPAs.
  • Deborah Waller joined the Jenkins MBA Program as administrative support specialist earlier this summer. She fills a vacancy created when Carol Smith retired from that position after 40 years of service to the NC State College of Management.

Supply Chain Resource Cooperative

  • Clyde Crider joins the Department of Business Management as co-director of the college’s Supply Chain Resource Cooperative (SCRC). He joins the college after a successful 40-plus year career with Caterpillar, where he saw many examples of the work that the college’s supply chain management students completed for Caterpillar and other companies through their partnership with SCRC. Crider now will be coordinating and overseeing those projects for students in the college’s Jenkins MBA program. During his career at Caterpillar, Crider held roles of increasing responsibility in many areas of the company, most recently in the human services division. His credentials include Senior Professional in Human Resources Certification (SPHR) 2005, and Caterpillar Certified 6 Sigma Black Belt 2002. He has an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, received in 2001, and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Springfield in 1992.

Research Development

  • Andrea Cogdill has joined the college as contract manager, working with Brian Thomas, director of research development for the college. Cogdill received her bachelor’s degree from Western Carolina University in 2005, and previously worked as with contracts and grants in NC State’s physics department.
