Poole College welcomes over 900 new students

Enrollment continues to remain strong for Poole College’s undergraduate and Jenkins graduate programs, with a total of 926 students entering the college this fall. Facts and stats about our incoming students follows.

Office of Undergraduate Programs

  • Admitted 358 new freshmen and 172 off-campus transfer students, with an average GPA is 4.36, and 36 percent of the incoming students were in the top 10 percent of their high school graduating classes.
  • International Programs: Nearly 50 students are studying in Poole College from European business schools. Thirty-two are exchange students attending Poole College for their study abroad experience; nine are attending Poole College as part of their international business dual degree programs. Three of these students are from the ESB Business School in Reutlingen, Germany, and six are from the Reims Management School in Reims, France.
  • International Programs: Five of Poole College’s new students began their studies at NC State, in preparation for completing their final two years at a Poole College partner school in Europe. Two are in a French track; two are in an Italian track, and one is in a German track. Read more about the dual degree program on the Office of Undergraduate Program’s International Programs website.
  • Three students are participating in a new dual degree program between Poole College and SKEMA, a French business school with its U.S. campus on NC State’s Centennial campus.

Jenkins Master of Accounting Program

  • Admitted 103 students, with an average GPA of 3.53 and an average GMAT of 580.
  • Eighty-seven of the students are from North Carolina; 13 are from other states in the U.S., and three are from other countries.
  • Fifty percent of the students completed their undergraduate studies at a university other than NC State.

Jenkins MBA Program

  • Jenkins MBA full time program: 51 students. Average GMAT, 627. Average work experience, 3.5 years. North Carolina residents, 32. Other states represented by the new students: Colorado, Florida, Indiana, Maine, Virginia. Other countries represented include China, India, Korea, Peru, Trinidad, and Turkey.
  • Jenkins MBA Professional program: 99 students. Average GMAT, 581. Average work experience, 6.5 years. North Carolina residents, 95. Other states represented: Minnesota and Florida.
  • Jenkins MBA Online: 40 students. Average GMAT, 562. Average work experience, nine years. North Carolina residents, 32. Other states represented: Virginia, Indiana, Maine, New Jersey, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

Jenkins one-year dual-degree international programs

  • Master of Global Innovation Program: 22 students enrolled in this one-year dual-degree program. Of these, 14 students are from the Americas and were admitted through Poole College and eight international students admitted through IAE, Poole College’s partner for this program near Aix en Provence, France.] Students for this program are at IAE for the fall semester and will be at Poole College for their spring semester.
  • Global Luxury Management: 46 students are enrolled in the Global Luxury option within the MGIM degree program, now in its second year. This is more than double last year’s enrollment of 18. An equal number of students were enrolled through Poole College and SKEMA’s campus in Sophia Antipolis, France, Poole College’s partner institution for this program. Students in this program are at NC State for their first semester, and will be in France for their spring semester.

NC State Jenkins Graduate Economics Program

Poole College's Department of Economics and the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences' Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics jointly deliver the Graduate Economics Program at NC State. This year, the program welcomed 17 doctoral students and 18 masters students.
