Poole College’s Finance Club Launches New Student Financial Awareness Series on Nov. 14

The Finance Club in the NC State Poole College of Management is hosting the first presentation in its new Student Financial Awareness Series, sponsored by AFLAC.

Steve Gunter, real estate broker and investor for The Gunter Group, will be speaking at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 14, in 2210 Nelson Hall.

This is the first in the Finance Club’s four-part series on financial awareness. Topics to be covered in the series include budgeting, proper credit use, investing for the future, and financial independence.

This series offers students and others in the community the opportunity to learn about timely financial topics that will allow them to make educated financial decisions during their college career and post graduation, said Maxwell Kongkolo, one of the club’s leaders.

“By educating and empowering students and the community, we seek to help individuals take control of their financial futures and utilize these tools for future financial success,” he said. The sessions are designed for “any student, faculty, or member of the community who wants to learn more to make educated and sound financial decisions.”

The Gunter Group is associated with Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston. Gunter also is the volunteer coordinator at Vision Church for Dave Ramsey’s money course, Financial Peace University, one of the premier financial courses taught to churches, families and businesses within the United States.
