Robert Andrews, III, Joins NC State College of Management’s Advisory Board

Andrews was welcomed at the April 16 meeting of the college’s Advisory Board held at NC State’s Park Alumni Center. For Andrews, the board appointment is a bit of a homecoming, as he received his bachelor’s degree in economics from NC State in 1966.

The college’s Advisory Board provides external advice and counsel to the office of the dean on industry trends in support of the college’s teaching, research and outreach activities.

“I welcome Chip’s involvement on the college’s advisory board and look forward to the insight he will bring from his significant professional experience, especially his expertise in business strategies and financial management,” said Ira R. Weiss, dean of the NC State College of Management.

Andrews serves as the senior chairman of FMI Corporation, a management consulting and investment banking firm for the worldwide construction industry. He also oversees real estate LLCs that have developed and managed multi-family, office and shopping center assets.

His public and private company client advisory services have centered on an understanding and appreciation of the challenges of developing and implementing successful strategies, with a focus on creating strategic thinking for alternative options. He also speaks on industry trends at conventions and forums, helping his audiences find personal applications for his creative approaches through compelling examples of success delivered with an energetic, upbeat style.

Andrews previously served NC State University as a member of The Graduate School Board of Advisors. He also currently serves on the boards of Morgan Stanley Trust, Axxiom Manufacturing, Bell Fund II, PieperPower Corporation and Western Construction Group, and is vice chairman of the chapter board of the World Presidents’ Organization.
