Spring Wachovia Lecture Series Begins February 7

Wachovia Executive Lectures are presented from 4:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the dates below. The presentations are made at the Poole College of Management, 3400 Nelson Hall on the NC State University campus. Nelson Hall is located at the corner of Dan Allen Drive and Hillsborough Street. Parking is available at no charge in the Dan Allen Drive parking deck. The lectures are presented with the generous support of Wachovia, a Wells Fargo company. They are intended primarily for students of the college and the university, and are also open to the public at no charge. Reservations are not required.

Monday, Monday, Feb. 7| John Veihmeyer, chairman and chief executive officer of KPMG LLP.

KPMG LLP is a Big Four accounting firm that provides audit, tax and advisory services and is the U.S. member firm of KPMG International (KMPGI). KPMG operates from 87 offices with more than 23, 000 employees and partners throughout the U.S. In addition to his role as chairman and CEO, John Veihmeyer is chair of the firm’s Board of Directors and member of its management team. He also is chair of the Americas Region- the U.S., Canada, Central and South America and Israel – for KMPGI and a member of its Global Board and Global Executive Team.

Monday, March 21 – Fred Morganthall, II, president of Harris Teeter

Harris Teeter, Inc., headquartered in Matthews, Inc., is a leading regional supermarket chain operating nearly 200 stores in eight states, primarily in the southeastern and mid-Atlantic United States. It is a subsidiary of the Ruddick Corporation. Fred Morganthall joined Harris Teeter in 1986 as director of grocery merchandising. Since then, he has served as vice president of merchandising, distribution and operations. In 1994, he was elected to the Board of Directors and became president in 1997.

Wednesday, April 13 | Kenneth W. Lowe, chairman, president and chief executive officer, Scripps Networks Interactive

Scripps Networks Interactive is a leading lifestyle and interactive services company with respected, high-profile television and interactive brands. Its Lifestyle Media includes national television networks, Home and Garden Television (HGTV), Food Network, DIY (Do It Yourself) Network, Cooking Channel and Great American Country. Its Lifestyle Media includes Web sites associated with the television brands and other Internet-based businesses serving related categories. Kenneth Lowe was elected to his current role in 2008. Previously, he was president and CEO of The E.W. Scrip’s Company, after serving as its president chief operating officer and a director.
