Information Sessions Scheduled for Global Luxury Management Program

With the first group of students in NC State Poole College’s Global Luxury Management program in France for their second semester, the college is now recruiting students for the fall 2013-14 academic year.

The new one-year dual-degree program, an option in the college�s Master of Global Innovation Management program, focuses on three industry sectors that comprise the global luxury market:

  • Personal Luxury, including fashion, accessories, cosmetics/fragrances
  • Luxury Transportation, including automobiles, marine, aircraft
  • Experiential Luxury, including hospitality, sports management, home, furniture

Foundation in Business, Exposure to Global Luxury Market

This unique academic program is delivered by Poole College in collaboration with NC Stateâ��s College of Textiles and SKEMA, the global French business school. Students complete their fall semester at NC State and the spring semester at SKEMAâ��s campus in Sophia Antipolis, near Nice, France, and wrap up the program with an internship.

The fall curriculum, taught at NC State, provides a strategic business foundation for the global luxury market, including courses in consumer behavior, creativity in management, growth venture management, and global textile and apparel business dynamics, brand management and marketing.

The spring curriculum, taught in France, provides a additional global luxury management coursework, including communication and career management, pricing and distribution, globalization and strategy courses. Tours, discussions with leading industry executives, participation in trade shows, and other exposure to the luxury industries bring a real world perspective to both semesters.
