In 2009, the SAP University Alliances Program launched in the Jenkins Graduate School of Management in the NC State University Poole College of Management to provide courses using SAP, an enterprise resource planning (ERP) software system used by over 195,000 customers in 120 countries. There are over 12 million users, including the majority of Fortune 500 companies around the globe. SAP is the world’s largest enterprise applications software company. Led by Dr. Marianne Bradford, associate professor of accounting, Jenkins MBA graduates who get experience with SAP in their coursework gain a competitive advantage in top industries. Companies that use SAP include John Deere, IBM, Nestle, Coca-Cola, Proctor and Gamble, Glaxo Smith Kline, Caterpillar and more.
MBA and MAC students who take MBA 515 ERP systems/Beginning SAP (3 credit hour) and MBA 610 Advanced SAP (1 credit hour) are eligible to receive the SAP Recognition Award certificate as the Poole College of Management is a member school of the SAP University Alliances (UA) program. This Recognition Award certificate is issued by the college signed by the Professor Bradford (who is the SAP University Alliance Coordinator for NCSU) and the SAP UA Program Director. The purpose is to recognize students at UA member universities that have spent notable time using the SAP enterprise suite.
Dr. Marianne Bradford, associate professor of accounting, has received training that qualifies her to be a lead instructor for the SAP curriculum. Students take two courses: a 3-credit-hour Enterprise Systems course (MBA 515), which includes the SAP materials and a 1-credit-hour course, ERP Configuration Using SAP.
