David Townsend to teach MBA 580 Global Strategy

David Townsend, a former NC State faculty member and currently on the faculty at Oklahoma State, will be returning to Raleigh in the coming year and will teach all sections of MBA 580 in 2012-13, including the section in second summer session 2012.  Professor Townsend has taught entrepreneurship courses at both NC State and Oklahoma State, as well as MBA 508 Global Management Simulation to Jenkins MBA full-time students.

Professor Townsend's research focuses on how early-stage technological and social entrepreneurial ventures create or acquire critical financial, technological, managerial, and reputational resources, and how these resources affect the survival and performance of these ventures. Professor Townsend's research on these topics has been published in the Journal of Business Venturing, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, several conference proceedings, and has been featured in popular business press outlets such as BusinessWeek, TechCrunch, GigaOm/The New York Times, TechJournal South, among others.
