Here’s how Supplemental instructors(SI) can help you succeed:

  • Our SI leaders are undergraduate students who have already successfully completed the course and are excited about the opportunity to help other students.
  • SI leaders are here to help you succeed in the course with skill training and good study habits.
  • They will help you work towards solving problems to get the right answer.
  • SI leaders attend classes so they know exactly what is being covered.  They have carefully reviewed the materials.  SI leaders carefully plan for each session by reviewing the material the instructor has recently taught and focusing on the more difficult topics.
  • Some SI leaders may also have additional materials that the professor has provided.

What should you do before you attend a session?

  • Read all relevant class material
  • Bring your books, notes, and classroom handouts
  • Work relevant problems first and bring the ones that you are having trouble with
  • Come with “Smart” Goals:

Specific
Measurable
Attainable
Realistic
Timely
