Edie Rodriguez is a highly accomplished CEO and advisory board member who delivers billion-dollar outcomes across luxury, luxury travel, and technology industries. As a “mobile global” executive and positive disrupter, she has honed a 35+ year career across sales, operations, marketing, digital, and social distribution channels to transform some the world’s most recognizable brands – Crystal Cruises Corporation, Royal Caribbean’s Azamara Club Cruises, Carnival Corporation’s Cunard, Seabourn and Carnival brands and Ponant Cruises. As an award-winning leader with strong corporate governance, financial and business acumen, she is an asset to a board seeking to establish market leadership and global brand dominance.

Edie is the Chairman of the Americas and Brand Ambassador for world’s leading Luxury Yacht Expedition Cruise Company, Ponant Cruises – a subsidiary of the multi-billion dollar luxury leader Groupe Artemis/Kering, where she provides strategy, direction and implementation. She is a key player in launching two new ships out of seven to be built – a $2B venture. As a business driver, Edie tripled The Americas business for guest count and revenues (FY’18) and guided team into receiving the prestigious, Travel & Leisure Magazine World’s Best Award, two times.

Previously, Edie led as CEO and President of Crystal Cruises Corporation, a multi-billion dollar global brand with ocean condominiums at sea, cruise ships, river vessels, yacht expedition vessels, private charter air traveling worldwide. She guided the company’s strategy, operations, finance, and customer focus – doubling revenues to $600M and increasing capital expenditures to $3B for future growth investments. Additionally, she also orchestrated a $51M fiscal year turnaround, from -$41M to +$10M in the first six months, while driving a digital and social media strategy for a brand that previously did not exist.

In this role, Edie helped sell the company to GHK from NYK ownership in partnership with J.P. Morgan Chase, for 14X EBITDA – a $550M gain, earning promotion from President / COO to CEO and President. She also oversaw a $3B budget for new ship building and launch – from concept through construction and completion, including successful launches of brand extensions. Edie transformed the company from the World’s Most Awarded Luxury Cruise Line into the World’s Most Luxurious Hospitality and Lifestyle Brand portfolio, while delivering the three most profitable fiscal years in the 27-year old Company.

Earlier, as SVP of Marketing & Sales and Corporate Officer across Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.’s Azamara Club Cruises (NYSE: RCL), Edie led all core operations, marketing and sales, finance, guest services, IT with a $200M P&L. For this luxury brand, she contributed to $7.9BB+ revenue (2013) as part of total parent corporation roll up, while delivering better than expected ROI on capital investments while exceeding sales goals. Edie also served as VP, Business Development & Strategic Partnerships and a Corporate Officer for Carnival Corporation’s Cunard Lines, Seaborn Cruise Line and Carnival Cruise Line (NYSE: CCL), (NYSE: CUK), LSE: CCL), contributing to $13B in annual revenue (2009) as part of total parent corporation roll up, including leading most profitable national accounts.

Across all her roles, Edie has prepared, approved and presented final BoD books/decks for all Board meetings, partnering with CFOs. For Crystal Cruise Corporation, she represented as member of the BoD of Cruise Line International Association (CLIA). Edie received a significant honor in 2018, as she was hand selected by The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to be a Founding Steering Committee Member and Executive Committee Member for The KSA Public Investment Fund (PIF). A short-list of her numerous awards include Luxury Travel Advisor Magazine’s Most Innovative People in the Cruise Industry, 2018; Ernst & Young’s EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Award, 2017, Women of Note, The Wall Street Journal, 2014; and Fortune Most Powerful Women Summit, invitation only, 2017.

Edie is a Director for RAND Corporation Center for Global Risk and Security (CGRS) Advisory Board, providing governance and fiduciary guidance, advising from billion-dollar corporations’ perspectives. She is an Advisory Board Member for The Retail Summit, advising on convergence of technology, digital disruption, hospitality, corporate social responsibility and global luxury experiences. Edie is a globally respected thought leader on Luxury and Luxury Branding and frequent speaker on Fox News, Fox Business News, CNN, CNBC and Bloomberg TV in the U.S., U.K., and Hong Kong. She has completed Wharton Business School’s Executive Management Program, Boards that Lead, Stanford University’s Executive Management Program, Finance for C-Suite Executives, among other programs and degrees.
