Kevin Bowman is the first advisory board member from the luxury home furnishings segment. Kevin has been President of Heritage Home Group’s three iconic luxury brands including Hickory Chair, Pearson and Maitland-Smith since 2016. Founded in 1941 in High Point, NC, Pearson upholstery is known for its exquisite upholstery designs, tailoring and unique sit due to special construction techniques that provide a slight softer and more luxurious sit than comparable competition. Maitland-Smith products, which span from dining tables/chairs, to occasional tables, to desks and libraries, to unique table and lighting accessories, to high-end gift items; are produced in Cebu, Philippines with some of the world’s most exotic materials, including wood veneers, beautiful shells and other sea materials, along with metal works. Hickory Chair is the largest of the three brands and produces high-end wood and upholstery products that are sold to designers for their luxury consumer and commercial clients world-wide. Hickory Chair factory in Hickory, NC is the corporate headquarters for these three brands and has been in operation there since 1911.
With over twenty years experience as a leader in the home furnishings industry he has previously served as Vice President of Sales (Key Accounts) for Stanley Furniture, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Avalon Furniture, and Vice President of Sales and Retail Development for Thomasville Furniture Industries, Inc. With a reputation for results and leadership throughout the southeast region, Kevin Bowman has cultivated a keen and unique comprehension of modern distribution strategies and tactics for both the open and closed distribution models.
Kevin graduated from Florida State University and currently lives in Hickory, NC, with his wife Christine of twenty five years and his three children Bryson, Ian, and Garrett. Given the proximity of the High Point Furniture Market, and their Hickory, NC headquarters to the Raleigh campus; he is poised to engage students directly with this exciting segment of the luxury industry.
