Why did you choose the GLAM program for your education?
I was interested in furthering my knowledge and expertise in marketing while focusing on the luxury niche. I was attracted to the overall curriculum and blend of both in class and experiential aspects the program offered.
How did your experience in the GLAM program contribute to your professional achievements and successes?
The GLAM program helped to prepare me for interactions in the business world by offering seminars, socials, and classes dedicated to both personal development and academic achievement. The program allowed students to choose their own focus and sector within the industry, while still working in groups cross functionally which allowed students to be exposed to other sub-sectors and groups we might not have otherwise been exposed to at that level.
What did you enjoy most about your time in your the GLAM program?
I enjoyed many aspects of the program but some of the most memorable experiences and takeaways for me were being exposed and working alongside so many talented and interesting individuals from all over the world. Its been a blessing to continue to foster and keep in touch with industry experts, professors and classmates that I met through the program.
What are a few of the most impactful classes or lessons learned while in the program?
The GLAM program does a great job of evolving and keeping up with the latest elements and expertise in the luxury industry. I thought the Forecasting & Trend Spotting course as well as Social Media & Analytics course were both relevant and up-to-trend for our industry.
What advice would you give for prospective and current students who are interested in your industry/profession?
If you are passionate about working in the luxury space I think it’s important to set realistic objectives and continue to educate yourself outside of the classroom. It is always important to stay connected and to continue to network at all times being mindful that this industry is a small world and you never know who will you will run into in the future.
What advice do you have for prospective GLAM students?
Enjoy the journey. It is understandable to be unsure about all of the specifics and the end goal. The program will expose you to many elements, some analytically focused and others more creative. This will allow you to understand what you are most passionate about and in turn, will dictate the focus of your projects and masters thesis.
