Graduation Year: 2016
Current Organization/Title: Ralph Lauren Corp., Supply Chain Development Analyst
Why did you chose the GLAM program for your graduate education?
Being at NC State for undergrad I experienced what Poole had to offer, and decided Poole was the best fit for me for graduate school.
How did your experience in the GLAM program contribute to your professional achievements and successes?
The GLAM program prepared me for my career, I was able to interview and accept my position within days of returning to the states from studying abroad for the masters program.
What did you enjoy most about your time in the GLAM program?
What I enjoyed most about the classes were the hands on experience and real world application. The GLAM program also had many networking sessions which allowed me to open up and get comfortable with carrying on conversation with other professionals and potential employers.
What are a few of the most impactful classes/lessons you learned while in the program?
One of the most impactful lessons I learned is how to shape an argument and frame a discussion. I use this almost every day at work, being able to present our opinion with supporting details to get your argument across in a clear concise way.
What advice would you give for prospective and current students who are interested in your industry/profession?
The best advice that I can give is “ask questions”! If you are interested in a specific industry or would like to know more about a career field find contacts in that area and have a conversation with them. People are always open to talking to students, especially if coffee is involved.
Could you give a brief explanation of your current line of work, and what has led you to it?
I currently work at Ralph Lauren in Supply Chain. I am on the Supply Chain Development team, currently working on a project to onboard a new Global Transportation Management System. This position is a promotion that was received earlier this year, I was previously on the Vendor Compliance and Operations Team managing Supply Chain Compliance specifically for RL Collection and Italian factories that produce for RL.
What do you believe is your most interesting accomplishment since graduation?
I was hired on to the team at Ralph Lauren within the first week of returning to the states from studying abroad for the GLAM program. I hit the ground running with the company and have been able to travel many places including NY and Hong Kong for special projects.
