Leigh Shamblin named director of NC State Poole College’s graduate innovation management program
The NC State University Poole College of Management recently announced the appointment of Dr. Leigh Shamblin as professor of practice and director of the Master of Global Innovation Management (MGIM) program in the college’s Jenkins Graduate School of Management.
Shamblin brings to her new role more than two decades of experience in strategic leadership for domestic and international programs in higher education, business, and international service. She most recently served as senior program manager responsible for U.S. support for Kenya programs with IntraHealth International in Chapel Hill. She also has held leadership roles with Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the University of International Business in Almaty, Kazakhstan and the Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise, where she played a key role in launching the MBA Enterprise Corps through which MBA students advise businesses in emerging economies.

In addition to leading the dual degree Master of Global Innovation Management program, offered in partnership with IAE Aix Graduate School of Management, Shamblin will teach in NC State’s Jenkins MBA and Executive Education programs.
Shamblin earned her doctorate in adult education from NC State, her master in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her bachelor’s degree in business from the University of North Carolina-Asheville. She resides in Chapel Hill, N.C.

The Jenkins Graduate School of Management, in partnership with IAE Aix Graduate School of Management, part of the Aix-Marseille University located in the South of France, offers a master’s degree in Global Innovation Management. MGIM is a one year, global, dual degree graduate management program specifically designed to prepare tomorrow’s global business leaders with the global business and innovation management skills and knowledge they need to be competitive in the job market. Students include those who have engineering, science and technical backgrounds, as well as undergraduate majors in business and social sciences.
