The NC State’s Jenkins Economics Graduate Program at North Carolina State University<\/strong> combines the academic resources and research expertise of economics faculty in two departments and colleges: the Department of Agriculture and Resource Economics (ARE) in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) and the Department of Economics in the Poole College of Management\u2019s Jenkins Graduate School of Management. These departments, home to over 40 graduate faculty, collaborate to offer a program that is balanced between theory and application and designed to prepare students to be successful in academia, research, government and private industry. The Center for Environmental and Resource Economic Policy further enhances this collaborative aim, bringing faculty from both ARE and Economics together with natural and social scientists throughout North Carolina to focus on the state\u2019s and nation\u2019s most pressing environmental policy issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n NC State\u2019s graduate program is designed to provide students with a challenging exploration of microeconomic and macroeconomic theory, complemented by field courses that focus on application. We encourage our students to be active in scholarship, research and professional development. Students are encouraged to present papers at national and regional professional meetings, as well as at seminars conducted by area universities, and to work toward publishing their research during their tenure at NC State.
