TOPIC: Eliminating Accountability Killers
One of the most common complaints from leaders, regardless of industry or geographic location, is that people don't want to be held accountable. It takes different forms in different places: they give excuses for not hitting their production goals, they hide mistakes in quality, or they blame poor sales on the economy. The message for leaders is clear: If accountability is a problem in your organization, it's time for you to be accountable to make it better.
If you're a leader who's ready to improve the Accountability Culture in your organization, there are 3 things you should know:
1 A person must accept accountability; it can't be forced on anyone.
2 It’s unlikely that you hired an entire workforce of accountability-dodgers. It's far more likely that you have "accountability killers" built in to your systems.
3 It can get better, but it will take effort.
