Alpha Kappa Psi Business Fraternity Begins Rush September 11

Alpha Kappa Psi (AKPsi) is a co-ed business fraternity chartered on March 20, 1905 in New York State. It is committed to academic and professional growth of its members and gives them opportunities to engage in events that develop leadership, community service, responsibility, and lasting friendships.

To join AKPsi this semester, students must be interested in business. Students in any majors are accepted, as long as they are not involved in another professional fraternity or a fraternity in competition with AKPsi. First semester freshmen and graduating seniors, however, cannot join. To be considered for membership, students must attend both required events, marked with asterisk below.

Joining AKPsi “holds many benefits,” said Matt White, president, especially making friends and learning about professionalism, leadership, and business. “The fraternity is also a great networking tool,” he said. This year, AKPsi is hosting events such as a camping trip, a fundraiser at Moe’s Southwest Grill, a mixer with ECU’s AKPsi chapter, and an annual golf tournament in the spring. The fraternity will participate in this year’s homecoming festivities.

AKPsi deeply involves itself with the community. They participate in Adopt-A-Highway twice a semester, host professional speakers, and will be hosting a faculty appreciation breakfast.
