Baumer Joins Colleagues in Honoring Dissertation Committee Member Roger Sherman

Baumer and others for whom Sherman had served as a doctoral dissertation committee member met during the November 2010 Southern Economic Association meeting in Atlanta, Ga.

“Roger Sherman was a giant among industrial organization scholars,” Baumer said. “Those joining in honoring him had benefited enormously from his teaching and research.”

Among those were Emin Dinlersiz, U.S. Census Bureau; Frank Scott, University of Kentucky; Charles Holt, University of Virginia and editor of the Journal of Experimental Economics; Robert Feinberg, American University; Gary Fournier, Florida State University; Kathy Eckel, University of Texas at Dallas; Zhenhui Xu, Georgia State University; and James Miller, former head of the Office of Management and Budget under President Bush (41), George Mason University.
