CIMS Fellow, Author Andrew Hargadon Speaking at Biosciences Exec Series Launch

Hargadon will be speaking Friday, April 30, as part of the first weekend of the series which includes three modules that will be presented on April 30-May 1, June 4-5, and June 25-26, 2010.

Also presenting on April 30 is special guest speaker John Didsbury, chief executive officer of the Drug Discovery Center of innovation, a non-profit comprehensive drug discovery and development center that facilitates the translation of discoveries into effective new medicines.

Hargadon, who is the Charles J. Sonderquist Chair in Entrepreneurship and a professor of technology management at the University of California, Davis, Graduate School of Management. He also is a research fellow in the Center for Innovation Management Studies (CIMS) at the NC State College of Management and contributor to the CIMS Technology Management Report.

Hargadon has been affiliated with CIMS since 1996. In 1998, CIMS funded his doctoral dissertation which was on the topic of The Theory and Practice of Technology Brokering: How Design and Manufacturing Organizations Innovate by Creating New Combinations of Existing Knowledge.

CIMS is collaborating with the BioSciences Management initiative and Executive Programs at the NC State College of Management to develop and present the new Biosciences Executive Series.
