College Continues Sustained, Steady Enrollment Growth

“The sustained, steady growth of enrollment in our academic programs signals that we are providing the educational content, quality and value that our students seek,” said Ira R. Weiss, dean of the college.

“Especially in our MBA program, this includes a cluster of academic concentrations that enable our students to really dig into and prepare for the unique challenges and leadership needs of various industry sectors – from the more established financial, marketing and supply chain management fields to the evolving areas of biosciences, services, innovation, entrepreneurship and technology commercialization,” he said.

The college’s technology focus has been particularly attractive to individuals who have work experience in technology based industries, and nearly half of the current full-time MBA student body has undergraduate degrees in engineering, math or the sciences. Judee Lonne, assistant director in the Jenkins MBA program who manages recruitment for the part-time for working professionals program, reports that despite cutbacks in employer subsidies for tuition, “Our students continue to see the value of our technology-focused program for their professional growth and development. They also appreciate the flexibility of taking classes at our remote site in Research Triangle Park, near to where many of them work.”
