Executive Programs Launches Certificate Business Series for Tech Professionals

This certificate program was developed for engineers, scientists and designers with college degrees who desire a broader business perspective, who are changing organizational roles, or who lead or will be leading teams of technical professionals.

The series was designed by the college’s Executive Programs to provide the business skills being sought by employers in today’s intense, global business environment. In addition to technical expertise, employers are increasingly seeking professionals who also have a deep understanding of business practices. This includes communication and collaboration skills that lead to improved business operations, faster problem-solving and greater productivity, as well as the ability to anticipate and respond to the consequences of business decisions.

The Technical Professionals Business Series is a certificate program that includes a portfolio of eight courses in three tracks: Foundation Track, Specialization Track and Leadership Track. Each course is being offered several times throughout the year, in modules of four eight-hour days of instruction per course. Most courses meet in blocks of two days. Participants can complete one or multiple courses depending upon their career development needs. Those who complete all courses within a track receive a certificate of completion for that track.

Executive Programs courses are taught by NC State College of Management faculty supplemented by lecturers and guest speaker selected for their expertise in the course topics and skill in teaching business to technology focused individuals. The courses will be taught at the NC State College of Management’s Jenkins MBA location serving Research Triangle Park. This facility is located at 1 Park Drive in Morrisville, N.C.
