Fourth Annual BioSciences Forum to be held Oct. 31

This event is organized by the BioSciences Management program at North Carolina State University College of Management and is co-hosted with the North Carolina Biotechnology Center at its facilities in Research Triangle Park, 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The event provides members of the biotechnology, biopharmaceuticals, and other life sciences fields an opportunity to meet and discuss challenges and opportunities faced by their industries.

Featured speakers at this year’s forum are:

  • William K. Atkinson, President and CEO, WakeMed Health and Hospitals
  • Myla Lai-Goldman, MD, Medical Director, Chief Scientific Officer and Executive Vice President, Laboratory Corporation of America, Holdings (LabCorp)
  • Paula Brown Stafford, MPH, Executive Vice President, Global Biometrics and Chair, Enterprise Data Council, Quintiles Transnational
  • Michael D. Kowolenko, PhD, Senior Vice President, Wyeth Biotech Technical Operations and Product Supply

This event also provides opportunities for students in the NC State Jenkins MBA program in the College of Management as well as the joint NC State Jenkins MBA and Master of Microbial Biotechnology and Master of Veterinary Medicine degree programs to network with professionals in the biosciences industries.

The BioSciences Management program was renamed this year from BioPharma Management to better reflect the variety of industries it encompasses, said Richard Kouri, director of the BioSciences Management program.
