Hamilton Scholars Announces Prize Winners

Selling nearly 700 raffle tickets, this spring’s Second Annual Fundraiser was a huge success, according to Hamilton Scholar fundraiser chairperson, Sarah Watkins. Funds raised will help to “support Hamilton Scholar events, including events held with the foreign exchange students who Hamiltons mentor like a baseball or womens’ basketball tailgate in the spring. The funds will also support study abroad scholarships,” Watkins said.

The Hamilton Scholars who sold the three highest number of tickets during the fundraiser were Sarah Watkins, a junior majoring in accounting; Jordan Cherry, a senior majoring in business administration; and Scott Norris, a senior majoring in accounting.

The winners of the raffle’s three grand prize packages are:

  • First place – Dr. Lauren Brown, the associate director of undergraduate advising in the Poole College of Management
  • Second place – Lisa Vander, an NC State graduate student in education workforce planning.
  • Third place – James Oleniacz, a relative of a Hamilton Scholar.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will be used to support Hamilton Scholar events at NC State and overseas, Watkins said.
