Jenkins MBA Clubs in Salvation Army’s Kettles on Parade

Two Jenkins MBA student organizations are helping the Triangle area Salvation Army celebrate its 120th anniversary by participating in its Kettles on Parade fundraiser. The Jenkins MBA Student Association (MBA SA) and the NCSU Net Impact Graduate Chapter each decorated and entered kettles that will be on display – collecting funds – through the month of April. Online donations are also being accepted on the Salvation Army’s website.

MBA SA’s kettle is on display at Benelux Cafe, a coffee shop in downtown Raleigh’s Historic City Market area. The location was chosen because, as an independent coffee shop, it fits the entrepreneurial mindset of many of the MBA SA members, member Alysia Baker said. Six MBA students helped with decorating the kettle, building on a theme of community involvement and increasing awareness for the NC State Poole College Jenkins MBA program.

Net Impact’s kettle – decorated like a tree, in honor of Earth Day on April 22 – is at the Hallmark Store in Cameron Village. That site was selected because it’s a frequent supporter of the Salvation Army, Chris Gibson said. Six Net Impact members also helped with their kettle. Details are on the Net Impact site
