Matthew H. Ellis joins NC State Poole College of Management Board of Advisors

The Poole College of Management at NC State University announces the appointment of Matthew H. Ellis, managing director and regional executive, North Carolina and Tennessee region of U.S. Trust, to a three-year term on the Poole College Board of Advisors. 

Ellis oversees U.S. Trust offices throughout North Carolina and Tennessee, leading a team of talented and dedicated professionals. He is responsible for delivering customized wealth management solutions to high net worth and ultrahigh net worth families.

Previously, he served as the regional investment executive for the North Carolina-Tennessee region for U.S. Trust, acting as the regional chief investment officer and managing the investment team. Prior to joining Bank of America and U.S. Trust as a portfolio manager, Ellis spent several years in the private client group at Goldman Sachs & Company and at Smith Barney as a financial consultant and discretionary portfolio manager.

Ellis is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and spent extensive time in the Mediterranean and Middle East as a naval flight officer. In addition, he holds an M.B.A. with a finance concentration from the University of Memphis and the Certified Private Wealth Advisor (CPWA) designation.

He also serves on the board of directors for Childcare Resources Inc., and lives in Charlotte, N.C.
