MBA Student Teams Making a Case for Ethics in Thursday’s Competition

MBA students in the college’s Jenkins Graduate School’s Case Competition class (MBA 590-001) will be applying what they have learned in their core courses to make a convincing and professionally presented set of arguments for this year’s Ethic Case Competition topic, “Managing Ethically in Emerging Economies.”

The Business Ethics Society, a student organization based in the College of Management, with faculty advisor Dr. Greg Young, has presented an ethics case competition in the college for the past five years. This year, the competition was limited to students enrolled in the new MBA Case Competition class. “The new course was added to the curriculum to provide our MBA students an opportunity to test, in an engaging, competitive setting, what they have learned in their first year of study in the program,” said Dr. Steve Allen, associate dean of graduate programs and research in the college.

The competition presentations are not open to the public, but the college and university community are welcome to stop in for the Awards Ceremony and Reception in the Nelson Student Commons at 4:00 pm. The student competitors, student volunteers, members of the Business Ethics Society and competition judges will be in attendance to announce and congratulate the winning teams.
