NC State Professional Online MBA Ranked No. 36 by US News & World Report

The Professional Online MBA program at NC State’s Jenkins Graduate School of Management placed 36th nationally in the U.S. News & World Report Best Online Graduate Business Programs rankings released today. It is the highest ranked North Carolina-based online MBA program participating in the publication’s 2014 ranking.

The NC State Jenkins MBA program’s ranking rose from 42 in 2013 and comes on the heels of Bloomberg BusinessWeek’s top-20 ranking of the school’s face-to-face Professional MBA program.

“The US News ranking marks the second time in several months that our focused and consistent attention to our MBA program has been recognized by top publications,” said Dr. Ira Weiss, dean of the NC State Poole College of Management which includes the Jenkins Graduate School.

“Since we admitted our first class of online MBA students in 2011, we have been blown away by the caliber, diversity and active engagement of our professional students,” said Dr. Steve Allen, associate dean for graduate programs and research.

“Our online MBA students get the full NC State Jenkins MBA experience – but with the flexibility that our anytime, anywhere online platform affords,” Allen said. “Graduates in our most recent class who reported salary data indicated an average 21 percent salary increase from the time they began the program two years prior.”

More than half of this year’s ranking was based on the level of student engagement and admissions selectivity, on which NC State’s program scored among the highest in the ranking with an 88, indicating  high student quality.  Also measured are peer reputation, faculty credentials and student services. This is US News & World Report’s third annual ranking of online graduate management programs.

NC State is currently accepting applications for the Professional Online MBA program starting in fall 2014. For more information, visit http://www.mba.ncsu.edu.  The NC State Jenkins MBA is available in three formats: full-time, profession and professional online.
