Poole College Students Attend National Black Student Leadership Conference

Eight NC State Poole College of Management students attended the National Black Student Leadership Conferenc held in Raleigh, NC., January 10 through January 13, 2013.

The conference, which brings together college students from across the country, teaches students about leadership and enables them to expand their personal and professional networks, said Rosaunda Breeden, professional adviser in the college’s Office of Undergraduate program and coordinator of the college’s Diversity Initiative. Providing support to attend such events is one of example of Poole College's commitment to assisting its students in advancing on their paths toward professional leadership, she said.

Among those attending is Anitra Black, a junior in accounting and president of the National Association of Black Accountants. "It was truly a great experience. I learned a lot about leadership, and I can assure you that I am fully embracing the leadership challenge,” she said, adding, “I hope that Poole College will continue to sponsor students to attend the conference. It not only taught me more about leadership, but it also enabled me to expand my network, and gave me new insight to my personality traits."
