Poole College Co-sponsors Power Breakfast Featuring Biogen Idec Executive

The Poole College of Management is co-sponsoring the Triangle Business Journal’s Power Breakfast Series presentation featuring Machelle Sanders, vice president of manufacturing and general manager for Biogen Idec’s Research Triangle Park (RTP) campus. The event will be held Friday, November 2, 2012, at the Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club, beginning at 7:30 a.m. Wells Fargo also is a co-sponsor of this presentation.

The TBJ Power Breakfast series provides the opportunity to hear compelling and personal strategies of Triangle business leaders.

Biogen Idec is one of the world’s largest biotechnology companies and a partner of the college’s BioSciences Management Initiative. A number of MBA and MBA/Master of Microbial Biotechnology dual degree students have worked with the company on semester projects.

Sanders oversees the company’s manufacturing facilities and general operations of the company’s employees in RTP. Previously, she was vice president of global quality assurance for the company’s manufacturing facilities in RTP, Massachusetts, and Denmark.

Previous Power Breakfast speakers this year were Jim Rogers, chief executive officer of Duke Energy; John McConnel, president and owner of McConnell Golf; and Ward Nye, president and chief executive officer of Martin Marietta Materials, who presented Poole College’s Wells Fargo Exectuive Series talk in Nelson Hall in September 2012.

The Power Breakfast program begins 7:30 a.m. with a networking breakfast, followed by the program and a Q&A session beginning at 8 a.m. Registration details are available online.
