Poole College Teams Win First and Second Place in 2013 Lulu eGames

Two Poole College student teams earned first and second place in NC State University’s 2013 Lulu eGames’ New Venture Challenge category. The annual competition, presented by NC State’s Entrepreneurship Initiative, was held April 29 at the NC State McKimmon Center.

 

First place went to GroPro Lawn, a business that delivers do-it-yourself fertilizer kits to the customer’s home, backed up by a professional customer support center. GroPro Lawn is led by Daniel Walser, a senior in the Poole College of Management and Ryan Walsh, a senior in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Walsh is majoring in business administration with a concentration in finance. The team received $6,500.

 

Second place went to AccuFlow, a business plan based on disruptive technology that allows surgeons to quickly, accurately, and reliably image, measure, and analyze blood flow in the heart. AccuFlow is led by Poole College of Management Jenkins MBA students Bilal Aziz, Bret Buckman, William Glauser, Thomas Gwinn, Terence Maarschalkerweerd, and Hardik Patel. All are in the college’s Jenkins professional MBA program, in the entrepreneurship and technology commercialization concentration. The team received $5,000.
