Poole College’s BioSciences Forum features Metabolon, Purdue Pharmaceuticals and Quintiles execs

Executives from Metabolon, Purdue Pharmaceuticals and Quintiles are among the featured speakers at the Ninth Annual Biosciences Forum, presented by the BioSciences Management Initiative in the NC State University Poole College of Management.

The forum will be held on Friday, November 1, 2013, at the North Carolina Biotechnology Center, 15 T W Alexander Drive in Research Triangle Park, N.C. The program begins with registration and continental breakfast at 7 a.m., and the final presentation concludes at 12 p.m.

For nearly a decade, the BioSciences Forum has been bringing together experts and practitioners from many sectors of the biosciences industry for a frank discussion of opportunities and challenges. Presenters report on topics related to their sector of the industry, followed by a question and answer session with the audience.

Networking sessions between the presentations provide opportunities for more in-depth discussions among practitioners and students in the NC State Jenkins MBA program and dual degree MBA/Master of Microbial Biotechnology.

Featured speakers for the 2013 BioSciences Forum are:

  • John Ryals, Ph.D., chief executive officer, president and board member of Metabolon, Durham, N.C.
  • David Lundie, vice president, technical operations of Purdue Pharmaceuticals L.P., Wilson, N.C.
  • Tom Pike, chief executive officer of Quintiles Transnational, Durham, N.C.
  • Richard Kouri, Ph.D., director of the BioSciences Management Initiative at NC State Poole College

Graduate students in Poole College's Jenkins MBA and the MBA/Master of Microbial Biotechnolgy dual degree program will present poster summaries of their practicum projects completed with biosciences companies in the past academic year.

The BioSciences Forum is open to the NC State faculty, staff and students and members of the business community at no charge, but registration online is required.

Sponsorship opportunities are available. For details, contact Jaclyn Hage in Poole College's Office of Development and External Relations.
