Poole College’s Dual Degree Program Presented at Foreign Language Meeting

Details of Poole College’s International Dual Degree program for undergraduate students were presented at a meeting of the Foreign Language Association of North Carolina on October 11 and 12, 2013, in Winston Salem, N.C.

Robert Sandruck, director of international programs for Poole College, and Traci Stewart, graduate assistant in the Office of Undergraduate Programs, attended the event, at which Sandruck provided details of the program to the gathering of upper level foreign language teachers from high schools and universities across the state.

Traber completed her first two years of undergraduate studies at the School of Business at Reutlingen University in Germany and is now completing two years at Poole College. Ward is completing her first two years at Poole College and will finish her studies at Reutlingen University. 

Language teachers at the conference, especially those teaching German, French, Italian, and Spanish, were interested in sharing this dual degree opportunity with their students, Stewart said.

By the end of their program, Sandruck said, participating dual degree program students will:

  • Receive a bachelor of science in business administration from NC State
  • Receive a second bachelor of international management from the international partner institution where they completed the required coursework
  • Become fluent in a second language (French, German, or Italian)
  • Complete an internship in the U.S.
  • Complete an internship in the country of their international partner institution
