Recruiter Interest Up for Feb. 8 Spring Career, Internship Fair

North Carolina State Poole College of Management’s Spring Career and Internship Fair will be held February 8, 2013, at the NC State McKimmon Center. This event, coordinated by Poole College’s Office of Undergraduate Programs, starts at 10 a.m. and continues until 3 p.m.

The career and internship fair provides opportunities for students to learn about employers and specific career paths, including full-time or internship positions. Students wanting to be considered for postings and interviews need get into the ePACK system. Students should prepare resumes and bring up to 25 copies, as well as a student ID. Professional dress is required to attend.

Recruiter interest in the career fair is up over last year’s spring career fair, said Brian Newton, director of career and internship development in the college’s Office of Undergraduate Programs.

“Currently there are almost 60 different recruiters,” he said, adding that he expects the final number of recruiters to be between 70 and 80. Among the new companies participating this year are Doosan Portable Power, J Crew Distribution Center, MHC Kenworth, Norfolk Southern Corporation, and Stanadyne Corporation.

Shuttle Service to McKimmon

Students needing transportation from Poole College to the event may use Poole College’s Career Fair Shuttle Service which will run to and from the McKimmon Center every 20 to 30 minutes, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The shuttle will pick up riders at the Nelson Courtyard, located between Nelson Hall and Kilgore Hall on Brooks Avenue.

Poole College’s undergraduate students are encouraged to prepare for the career fair by attending the college’s undergraduate career development workshops.
