Reeves Thompson Among First in Poole College’s Class of 2015

Incoming freshman Reeves Thompson was one of the first 17 students to commit to joining NC State University’s Class of 2015. The college – and NC State – are familiar territory for him, as his father, David, graduated from the university in 1984. His sister, Chandler, and step-brother, John, are current students.

Thompson, who is joining his sister as a student of economics in the Poole College, will be be part of the first class of students entering under the college’s new name. His sister has a special connection with the day the name change was announced, as she was one of two students serving as emcee for the celebratory event.

Students admitted to NC State and the Poole College are currently visiting campus to experience first-hand the university environment and meet members of the college’s faculty, staff and students body.

Poole College’s Student Ambassadors hosted their first in a series of Make-a-Date sessions on Feb. 12. About 80 admitted students and their parents or family members spent the morning at the college, attending mini-classes taught by accounting, business management and strategy faculty members and learning about the college’s curriculum and programs. The chairman of the college’s Board of Advisors, Henry Campen, joined the Student Ambassadors, faculty and staff in welcoming the prospective students.
