Roby Sawyers Joins State Senate’s Tax Expert Team

NC State professors Roby Sawyers and Mike Walden will join a team of experts from the UNC system to analyze and estimate the economic impact of the tax reform plan under consideration in the state Senate. The team, recruited at the request of the General Assembly, is being coordinated by Donnie Charleston, a policy analyst at the Institute for Emerging Issues, and Leslie Boney, vice president for international, community and economic engagement for the university system.

Other members include Brent Lane, executive director of the UNC Center for Competitive Economies, and economics professors Ben Russo and John Connaughton from UNC-Charlotte.

Sawyers is a professor of accounting in the Poole College of Management and Walden is a professor of agricultural and resource economics in the College of Agricutlure and Life Sciences.
