Students enrolled in the MAC Program pay additional incremental tuition amounts than other graduate students in the university. MAC resident tuition for 2017-18 is $11,544.30 per semester for 9 credit hours or more. Nonresident tuition for the same period is $19,250.80. Please see the NCSU Cashier’s Office website for information on tuition rates for taking 0-8 credit hours.
MAC Fellowships, Scholarship and Assistantships
To qualify for any of these opportunities, students must submit all application materials by the February 1 deadline.
Fellowships and scholarships are awarded based on merit by the Department of Accounting and sponsoring CPA firms and companies.Thanks to the strong support of Big Four and top regional firms as well as loyal alumni and the Graduate School, NC State’s Department of Accounting is able to offer financial support to outstanding MAC candidates.
Financial aid may be available on a limited basis. Long-term, low-interest federal loans including the Federal Perkins Loan and Federal Stafford Loans may be obtained. For more information and application materials, visit the Office of Financial Aid ( 919.515.2421).
Paying for your MAC
As a part of the admissions process, applicants may be considered for Jenkins Graduate School’s merit-based MAC fellowships. A fellowship may provide financial support for educational expenses and also may include an offer of employment upon graduation (firm-sponsored option).
The accounting department administers scholarships from CPA firms and local businesses for outstanding MAC candidates. There are also several outside scholarship opportunities.
Graduate assistants are paid to assist faculty with teaching and/or research activities. Opportunities are also available to assist with the accounting clinic, teach accounting labs and work for the MAC Program or ERM Initiative. Over 50% of the MAC class typically receives a GA position.
