Accelerated Summer Accounting Prerequisite Program
(ASAP Program)

What is the ASAP Program?

The ASAP Program is a summer bridge program designed for non-accounting majors who have been have admitted to the Jenkins MAC Program. The program is intended to provide coverage of fundamental undergraduate concepts/topics necessary for MAC core courses and electives. Students will receive hands-on teaching from highly qualified faculty in NC State’s Department of Accounting in a small classroom setting (approximately 15 to 20 students).

MAC Prerequisites

The ASAP Program courses are not for credit, but will allow students to take MAC courses, to obtain the required number of graduate accounting course credits to sit for the CPA exam. Students in this program will typically be eligible to sit for the exam after the spring semester of the MAC Program.

The program will be 5 weeks in length (24 class days) and conclude by the end of Summer Session I. Prior to beginning of the ASAP Program, students will be required to pass a proficiency exam that covers accounting fundamentals (basic financial statements, the accounting cycle, etc). An online tutorial will be made available for students to review these materials before taking the proficiency exam.
