What type of job would you like to have after completing the MAC Program? If you already have secured a job – where and what area?

I’m currently a Portfolio Risk Officer for BB&T. After graduation from the MAC program, I’m looking to specialize in an enterprise risk management role.

Do you have any advice or tips you would like to give prospective students looking at applying to MAC programs?

I would suggest prospective students apply early and make sure they take all prerequisite classes.  I would also recommend seeking out current MAC students/faculty for advice and to answer any questions before applying for the program.

Why did you choose the NC State MAC Program?

I became familiar with the department and faculty after taking 5 accounting courses in a non-degree seeking capacity (taken to earn enough accounting credits to sit for the CPA exam). The online format option was especially appealing, allowing me to continue my professional career while enrolled in the program.

What are your expectations while attending the MAC Program?

To increase my critical thinking and problem-solving skills to help pass the CPA exam and pursue mid- to senior-level accounting positions after graduation.

What are you looking forward to the most while in the Program?

I look forward to engaging in a strong network of alumni and other classmates to help hone my accounting skills and prepare myself for the next chapter in my professional career. I also look forward to working at my own pace within the online format.
