What type of job would you like to have after completing the MAC Program? If you already have secured a job – where and what area?
I would like to find a position in the public accounting sector, preferably in auditing.
Do you have any advice or tips you would like to give prospective students looking at applying toMAC programs?
Get to know your professors, seriously. I know that advice is given to just about everybody in college, but it really paid off for me. Not only are your professors absolutely brilliant in their fields, they are also happy to help you with coursework and to give you advice. Knowing my professors as people, and not just the person at the front of the room, really changed my perception of college.
Aside from that, just keep working hard. Do your best at what’s available to you- if you’re in a club or organization, don’t just be another member. A little passion goes a long way.
Why did you choose the NC State MAC Program?
NC State’s MAC program has been my goal for the last two years, after I decided to switch from chemistry into accounting. I chose this program for two main reasons: my upmost respect for the faculty, and the fact that people I looked up to attended the program.
What are your expectations while attending theMAC Program?
I’m expecting a world-class, challenging education that prepares me simultaneously for both the field of public accounting and the CPA exams.
What are you looking forward to the most while in the Program?
I’m looking forward to strengthening my relationships with the faculty, building new ones with my peers, and preparing myself for the future. Not going to lie- I’m also pretty excited I have access to Carmichael Gym for another year.
