Poole’s Jesse Ellis, an associate professor of finance, helped conduct research, Do Politicians “Put Their Money Where Their Mouth Is?” Ideology and Portfolio Choice, on if politician’s equity investments align with their political ideologies. The research that was posted in Management Science examined Congresspeople’s voting records, year-end equity holdings, and social responsibility of different companies and if they operate in a politically sensitive industry.
